"Amazing care received"

About: Emergency Department / Minor Injuries

(as a parent/guardian),

My son had to return to Wishaw minor injuries unit a few days after his initial visit (after a fall playing football) as his pain had continued and he still wasn't able to walk. The staff took such good care of him. We were seen quickly and the care was so thorough. They were so good at distracting him and keeping him happy with chocolate biscuits and ice cream. The team responded rapidly when his pain became extreme and we felt reassured by their calming presence and swift response. Thank you to all at the MIU.

Dear Louise736

Thank you very much for getting in touch and for your comments in relation to the care your son received whilst having to attend the Minor Injury Unit within the Emergency Department here at University Hospital Wishaw.

I am pleased that you felt that the staff were very supportive to the needs of your son and I indeed hope he is making a speedy recovery from his football injury and am sure the biscuits and ice cream helped and were a wee bonus during his time here at hospital.

I will be pleased to pass your lovely comments to the Minor injury team

Thank you once again

regards

Faith
