I was admitted to A&E as a GP referral with a severe infection. I was prepared for the long wait in the waiting room, not the staffs fault this has become normal procedure.
However once I was reviewed the care was efficient and delivered with kindness in the EAU. Every person I met was doing their best and often above and beyond.
It was the small things like was making sure I had a dairy free milk option, finding a toothbrush/toothpaste as I hadn’t expected to be admitted so had little provisions. Hugely appreciated and a reminder that nurses, healthcare support workers, porters, doctors are still people looking after people and doing it extremely well!
Thankfully I recovered quickly and only spent 48hrs in hospital but it was enough to see the hard work and dedication in the department and I wanted to pass on my huge thank you to you all. Your kindness and care did not go unnoticed.
