"5 star treatment"

About: Rotherham Hospital

Received a pre-planned procedure in June 2024 and stayed at the hospital for two days. A resultant problem several weeks later meant a visit to A&e and subsequent 4 day stay at the hospital. During both stays I was treated with great care and attention and made to feel “wanted” and never a nuisance. Although always professional there was always friendly conversation. Food was always good in sufficient quantities as well. I was seen very quickly by A&e as there were only 4 people waiting and quickly given treatment and a bed in a ward.

I consider every aspect of my treatment as 5 star, thank you to all at rgh.

However if A&e is busy as it was in June 2023 then a long wait is inevitable. 7.5 hours to see a doctor I’m afraid. I wonder how many should have been there or should have been seen by a GP? There needs to be a better way to handle A&e, maybe pulling staff in from other departments as the need arises? Also why in this review can’t you use words with all capital letters?

Hello my name is Samantha and I am the Head of Patient Experience for Rotherham Hospital. Thank you for taking to time post your kind comments on NHS UK regarding your recent care and treatment. Such positive feedback is always greatly appreciated and I would also like to wish you well for the future.

Unfortunately, I am unable to answer the issue if using capital letters in your review.

Kindest Regards Samantha
