"I appreciated staff taking time to check in on me"

About: General Surgery / Surgical Unit

(as the patient),

I had cause to attend the Surgical Unit at Stracathro Hospital for a day case procedure in late July 2024. The procedure was a revision of the original I’d had undertaken at Ninewells Hospital.

While my experience at Ninewells was fine, the quality of care I received at Stracathro was excellent in every step along the way. From my pre-assessment to my discharge, the healthcare professionals at Stracathro demonstrated their commitment not only to my physical care but also to the softer aspects - I was looked after so well!

I appreciated busy staff taking time to check in on me, spend a couple of minutes chatting (this is NOT wasted time, it’s hugely valuable to patients) and, while I was there for an operation, it was a very pleasant experience.

The building is well maintained, bright and airy and spotless.

Thank you to everyone there, I (and I’m sure all of your patients) appreciate your efforts!
