"Maternity experience"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

Firstly, the first person I met when I arrived at AMU made the experience a nightmare. I was in for 7 days and would literally sit and dread the shift change to see if they were coming back on. They were rude, uncaring and seemed completely uninterested in how patients were feeling and their mental health.

However on a complete flip side was Lesley. She was an absolute dream, the complete opposite experience to the point I almost wanted to cry when she was finishing for the day. Such a credit to the unit. Went above and beyond made me laugh came and said hi and bye at every shift change, just an absolute angel to myself and parent and baby when they finally arrived.

All the other girls were amazing as well just didn’t spend as much time with them to remember names etc
