"Dermatology waiting times"

My daughter has been referred to Dermatology for her acne.  We have been told by the GP that the wait is around about 1 year due to back log.  Is there anyway that we can find out more specifics around how long we should expect to wait?  She is due to start uni in a few weeks and her acne is having an impact on her mental wellbeing.  I think if she knew how long it was going to take this would help.  Realise that everyone trying their best and that we are not an isolated case.
