"Always ready and willing to help in any way"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Orthopaedics (Wards 10a, 10b, 10c &10d)

(as a service user),

I was in attendance at Mr Jamal's clinic for the early removal of my Ilizarov frame due to quick healing of my broken leg/knee.

Margaret at reception booked my attendance and sent through to Xray for my xrays. Staff were brilliant where another Margaret booked my attendance where the staff took me in and were very nice helping me out onto the bed and positioning me for the the xrays (sorry I never caught your names).

I went back round (very nervous). David took me through to the room and was reassuring me about the procedure and having a laugh and a joke too! Then Andrew came who was very calming and spoke to me about what was going to be happening and Jordann would be there helping me and also helping with the removal too. We also had Rebecca, a student nurse and Charlotte who was new to the team in to help. I also seen Nick 1 of my surgeons who was very reassuring and Mr Jamal who was very supportive and telling me how well I've come on and how well I would be with the frame removal.

As I always say about the clinic it's a busy clinic but these guys know how to do their jobs well, from doing the procedure to the calming and reassuring of myself who was very nervous of the procedure. I can't thank this team enough in how they have helped me though this bad break! Sharon too with the well done on the way out the door and even making conversation 2 weeks prior to my procedure when on her break enjoying lunch in the sun! Everyone says hello with a smile when in the clinic, and always willing and ready to help in any way they can even when rushed off their feet.

Thank you all, for all you do!

Dear hotelsb93

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback following your recent appointment at the Orthopaedic Outpatient Department at QEUH.

I am pleased to hear that the team from reception staff to nursing staff and student nurses were cheerful and and helped your clinic visit to go smoothly, I will be pleased to share your kind words with the whole Ortho Outpatient team.

I will also pass your great feedback to Mr Jamal and his surgical colleagues, to Nurse Specialist Andrew and Specialist Physio Jordann. The Limb Reconstruction /Frame team work hard to provide individualised care and support for their patients and they'll be delighted to know you have had such a positive experience in their care.

I am pleased that your treatment and rehabilitation are progressing so well and please accept our good wishes for your continued recovery.

Kind regards

Morag Busby, Lead Nurse
