"segregated patients get more sessions than non seg"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as a service user),

how is it that segregated patients get more sessions than people not on seg? as a patient not on segregation i get just one session a week if i am lucky, so how is it that people who are on segregation for not complying with their treatment and assaulting staff get more than someone who is complying with treatment and not assaulting staff?

it just feels like the ward aswell as the hospital only wants to give segregated patients special treatment, also if people not on seg want to go to the library or shop and there are not enough staff for us to go because the seg patients need more staff then we do not get to go. but then later on in the week the seg patients get their own sessions and we can not go because we are not on segregation, how is this fair  and can segregated patients go with other segregated patients and not with non seg,

segregated patients should go with seg patients and non seg go together this is fair and i would like this implemented as i should not be punished by not been able to go to sessions because there are not enogh staff for the seg patients to go with us but then they can go on a diffrent day and we miss out please sort this out or shall we all just go on seg to actually get some sessions?

Thank you for your post. From a Therapies and Education Service (TES) prospective all our segregated patients have a structured timetable of activities which is staffed by Therapeutic Involvement Workers (TIW's).

This is planned in addition to the TES programme for non-segregated patients so should not impact on your individual TES timetable?

The Library and shop would normally be facilitated by ward staff, however in the past we have supported wards to access these areas when they are short staffed.

We will look into this further to make sure there is a balance and all patients from across all the care streams have access to therapeutic activities.

Thank you again for the post.
