"The care he received was amazing"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance St John's Hospital / Accident & Emergency St John's Hospital / X-rays & Scans

(as a service user),

My husband was admitted to St John’s A&E department on Saturday night with a suspected stroke. The care he received was amazing.

The paramedics who took him there were caring and professional. One of them was Steven the drivers name I dont remember but both of them came back later in the night when they were in the department and asked me how he was doing.

The lovely staff nurse in resus (strawberry blond/auburn hair) was so kind and caring. She also made sure I was ok. Nothing was any trouble for her and she explained everything to him numerous times to ensure he was calm and reassured.

After his CT he was moved to the assessment area and all the staff were friendly efficient and professional. I work for the NHS myself and I would just like to say that the care we both received was excellent.

A credit to the NHS.

Dear Juking,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read about what happened to your husband, that must have been terrifying. I hope that they are feeling better. It is great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff provide.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and your husbands name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan
