"Heart Failure Service"

About: Community Nursing Services / Mansfield Community Nursing King's Mill Hospital / Cardiology

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

When I first started with my illness in January 2013 and I visited my own doctors I was diagnosed with having anaemia and put on iron tablets but after weeks of showing no signs of getting better I knew myself there was something more. I've always suffered with anaemia and told the doctor this but for four months that's what I was treated for. I eventually became that ill I was taken into hospital and I had pneumonia in both lungs, a blood clot and heart failure.

I've got to say Kings Mill Hospital we're brilliant and got me well again and all the care that I've had from the Heart Failure team since leaving hospital has been brilliant.

I think that doctors surgeries push too many people in and get too busy to actually listen to what their patients are telling them. In my opinion take on less patients in order to spend quality time with them.

Its great to hear about your positive experience of Kings Mill Hospital and the Heart Failure team. Your comment about doctors being too busy to listen to their patients is really interesting to us as people's access to and experiences of their GPs is something we are going to be looking at specifically in the new year.

We'll take your comment into account but if you'd like to talk to us further about your experience of your doctors surgery please feel free to give us a call on 0115 963 5179 or email info@healthwatchnottinghamshire.co.uk.
