"No medical input or conversation"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Sleep Medicine

(as a service user),

Hi,

My frustration has now turned to feeling angry with the situation.

Synopsis-

Referred by GP to RIE Sleep Medicine 2013

Home sleep study autumn 2023

Diagnosis by mail early 2024 (As 1st appt cancelled by RIE)

2nd Appointment for summer 2024 cancelled by RIE

3rd Appointment for early autumn 2024 cancelled by RIE

By Mail I was given a diagnosis of ‘severe’ sleep apnoea. No CPAP machines due to waiting list! Bought my own equipment at huge cost. Joined a support group.

This is unacceptable that I will have been on CPAP over 8 months with 3 appointments cancelled by the hospital and no medical input or conversation. I have questions I’d like to specifically ask a sleep medicine consultant.
