"Relief from extreme discomfort"

About: General practices in Fife Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 2 (Emergency Surgical)

(as the patient),

I had abdominal pains which got so bad I made an appointment to see a GP. After examining me he was going to arrange an appointment for an ultrasound scan.  That night I was in such pain I contemplated a 999 call but deferred this and managed to get another appointment with the same GP.

He wrote a letter and sent me off to the Vic immediately. I was dealt with in Admissions ward 2. I was scheduled for a CT scan that day. As a result scheduled for a cholecystectomy the following morning and discharged the following afternoon. No messing about. I am very grateful that I received such prompt and effective treatment. I have been making a good recovery and felt well enough to go on a holiday to Iceland booked over a year ago.

Hello Pullstart
My name is Shelley McBain and I am the interim Service Manager for Primary Care. I am delighted to hear that the quick response from your GP enabled you to get the right care and that you recovered well enough to enjoy your holiday. I would love to pass on this feedback to your GP. If you wouldn't mind, could you please email me which GP made your referral (shelley.mcbain2@nhs.scot).

Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely feedback, and all the best

Shelley
