"A lovely atmosphere"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Breast services

(as the patient),

I had to attend the breast screening unit in Altnagelvin area hospital today.

As soon as I went through the doors it was a lovely atmosphere, the receptionist was lovely and put me at ease straight away, the lady that showed me to the changing area was also very friendly (I am sorry I don’t remember anyone’s name)

The consultant and his chaperone was also very friendly and they listened to my concerns and reassured me, the young lady that did my screening was just amazing she was so patient and caring and talked me through everything. Thank you all so much for making such an anxious time into a calming experience for me.

Hi verythankfull,

It was lovely to pick up this positive feedback this morning about your experience at the breast clinic.

The staff here do their best to make what is an anxious time a more pleasant experience and it seems you have been able to experience that at your visit which I am very pleased to read.

I am the lead mammographer in the unit so will pass on to the radiography team that the screening/imaging experience you had was made easier by the staff member.

Once again thank you for giving of your time to post this.I hope it will help anyone who might feel anxious about their visit to the unit.
