After making contact with Walsall Healthcare Community Services following contact with NHS 111 who advised the service could deal with full variety of clinical presentations considering the whole range of services and prescribed medication. I was contacted by clinical sister who asked several questions regarding the local of symptoms, duration, glucose level and what past medical history alongside what needs to happen to get the care required.
I felt absolutely awful to say what medication they could offer wasn't upto the standards and expectations of myself and other secondary care consultants feeling the best way forward was to attend the local Walsall Manor Hospital who I was seen in the emergency department. I feel the service did absolute nothing for myself and the wider NHS such as ambulance service, mainly are not doing the patients the best outcome as most of the staff are registered nurses with non medical prescribing with advanced practice they only appear to understand more commoner symptoms, diagnosis, make assumption and are not the comparable to their medical colleagues.
They failed myself on several counts as they are not as qualified as the acute medicine or emergency department colleagues and they have access to senior medical grade staff sometimes consultants which is far safer as this services is being used inappropriately. When they do attend they want to give there own perspective or opinion on clinical management of symptoms thinking they are supposed to be the same as there doctor or medical colleagues they are not and they didn't not understand anything in my experience.
