Sitting in tears yet again after speaking to Rheumatology Helpline at NHS Fife on the phone for a pre arranged appointment.
The nurse who incidentally did not give their name would not listen when I advised them that the other times I have had the symptoms that I am having at present it had been confirmed as the result of a blood test that it was a R.A flare up. They even went as far as to tell me that the eye problems I have which at present are getting worse had nothing whatsoever to do with my RA yet it was one of the symptoms I was advised about when I was diagnosed with RA nearly 3 years ago.
Not only have I had problems with the specialist nurses on this helpline but so have my family when contacting them on my behalf.
This coupled with the fact that after being told at least a half dozen times that my consultant had been changed due to previous problems with their lack of care I was told that they had not been and that I was still under my original consultant.
As with a previous message I have found the physiotherapists have been a life saver and I am thankful that I am not someone who would do themselves harm because believe me this department could make you think about it.
