I was discharged from ward 46 recently at 09.30hrs. I was still waiting for prescribed pain relief at 11.30hrs. I was told that the pharmacy was only small and that the medication would be available later in the day.
I went home and waited on telephone call from the ward, at 17.00hrs I tried endlessly to contact the ward but the line was constantly engaged. I finally spoke to a nurse at 21.50hrs. I was informed that my medication had not come back from the pharmacy and to call after 11.00hrs the following day.
The medication was finally ready at 17.40hrs on the Sunday, that was over 30hrs with no pain relief. Shocking way to treat anyone.
