"Questionable priorities"

About: Birchwood Medical Centre

The practice seems to be overloaded with routine work, to the point where it cannot offer an acceptable service when people become ill or have some urgent need. I was told by reception to wait until they close and dial 111 or to go the Leigh drop in centre, effectively dumping what should be their responsibility on an outside resources. On my visit they had plenty of staff (judging from the full car park) and only one patient in the waiting room, so there must be some level of mismanagement if this constitutes 'overload'. Hopefully they can recover from whatever the problems are soon.
