I just want to express my sincere gratitude for the Glenrothes breastfeeding support group. Lisa is an absolute angel. She came to my house and stayed with me for hours with my newborn baby, she watched him latch and helped me to get it right. She was always available to ask for help and without the breastfeeding support group I highly doubt I would have been successful at breastfeeding my son! The meetup in Rothes halls helped me during my maternity leave SO much. It was honestly the highlight of my week seeing the familiar faces and other mothers going through their breastfeeding journey.
I remember Lisa holding my baby so I could just get a cup of tea and a snack, and it makes me tearful thinking just how much I needed that. She answered all of my constant questions and helped me by lending me reusable nappies, helped me grow confident with weaning and even helped me know what poo is normal and what isn't.
Even when I was under pressure to stop breastfeeding and use formula, Lisa was right there boosting me up, and seeing other mothers continue on their journeys up to age 2 and beyond helped me to fulfil the WHO recommendation of breastfeeding until 2. The bond this helped me build with my son and the memories that I've made will stay with me forever.
Please never lose this resource. These beautiful people are helping us to give the next generation the best possible start in life and helping mothers when they need it most.
"My sincere gratitude"
