"We’re so lucky to have such a gold standard of care"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Primary Care Out of Hours University Hospital Wishaw / General Surgery (Wards 16-18) University Hospital Wishaw / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I attended the out of hours service in Hamilton in the early hours of a Monday morning. They referred me to the Orthopaedic team in Wishaw General Hospital and I was seen and assessed quickly within an hour.

Medical and nursing staff kept me informed at all times and dealt quickly and efficiently with my symptoms throughout.

I was admitted and started on intravenous antibiotics soon after and received exemplary care in WGH.

Initially I was in Ward 18 then transferred to Ward 16.

I was discharged home with clear instructions for my ongoing treatment and care.

I can’t praise our NHS enough. We’re so lucky to have such a gold standard of care in Scotland.

Good morning KM83.

Thank you for taking the time to post your positive experience on Care Opinion when you attended the Primary Care Out of Hours service.

I will pass on your lovely comments to the team and I hope you are recovering well after your stay in University Hospital Wishaw.

Take care, Pamela.
