"Redwood 2: How could staffing be better"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health (inpatient)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Posted on behalf of a service user on Redwood 2 (adult mental health ward) at Highbury Hospital:

Peer support workers are good, they take time to listen and patients appreciate that they have been through the same thing. Staff go out of their way to help, but I think that there should be more support for the staff team because I think some of the staff are burnt out, it being short staffed and busy but that is the nature of the ward.

I don't feel that patients have enough opportunity to give feedback.

Along with the Head of Involvement (Paul Sanguinazzi), I am responsible for the Trusts two Involvement Centres, and our Volunteering and Befriending Service. I help to report all of the feedback we receive as a Trust to the Board.

Thanks for helping to gather comments at the Highbury Listening event.

All comments gathered at the Listening Event are being shared with the senior management team who oversee Highbury services, and I'm sure they or a responsible manager will respond in more detail shortly.
