"Blood clot on my lung"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

Brought into HRI with serious breathing probs after 6 hrs they tried to discharge, I couldn’t breath so I became a bed blocker. I was moved during the night into a ward at 10 am. A doctor advised I’m being discharge I’m frightened as I still can’t breath.

Then in came a nurse dressed in red and told me I know what’s wrong with you, and it’s serious, you could die, I have no authority but I’m not going to give up on you.

The nurse arranged a scan and 2 hrs later came back to tell me I had a blood clot on my lung and noumena. I was treated for this and during the night I was moved to ward 200.

I was in a room on my own as I have cancer so no immune system there. I’ve my slippers and threw them across the room. I said my feet were cold so then said get out of bed and get them.

It got worse when I’m in so much pain 2 doctors arrived and put me on  morphine, said have another at 17:30. When I asked for this was refused point blank by a very rude nurse who liked to call all patients geriatrics.

What can I do to rectify this problem?

When the nurse passed my room again I had my phone in my hand saying I’m getting the police, I won’t be treated like this. Wow, this changed everything, they all ran around to help me, the sister apologised to me but they were there when they threw my slippers across the room.

I’m in my late 70s, very easy going, and never rude to anybody.

Sadly I’m very ill and will be leaving this planet very soon. But I keep smiling.

Thank you for reading my story and goodbye.
