"This has been an excellent service"

About: First Steps Programme

(as a service user),

With having a big age gap between my 2 pregnancies I felt overwhelmed with going back to becoming a new mum. My midwife had recommended me to the First Steps Service, which has been great.

I had the chance to meet a worker of first steps who was also pregnant and we shared health tips experiences and more. On the visits she supported me and even took me to hospital for my appointments before she went on maternity leave.

I was then passed over to another lovely worker, who has also been a great help with handling forms, helping me apply for housing and handing in supporting documents (which I am not good at wording).

This has been excellent and speeding up the process of me getting a move as the living conditions I am under (dampness) is health risk for baby and my older son.

Hi Nicole024

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent positive experience with the First Steps Programme.

Having someone to help share your experiences with and to support you throughout your pregnancy into motherhood is invaluable to you and your children. I was therefore delighted to read that both the First Steps Workers provided you with the support in helping you feel less overwhelmed.

Congratulations on your new addition to your family and thank you again for sharing your experience. I will ensure my colleagues are aware of your lovely feedback

Best Wishes

Helen xx
