"Left feeling embarrassed, uncomfortable and patronised"

Extremely rude, patronising consultant who had no concern for infection control (didn't wash hands/use gloves before inspecting and applying cream to son's nose), didn't ask about my son's history or allergies until after applying cream when the consultant asked if he was allergic to nuts, and conceding they should have asked that first.

The consultant had a very abrupt bedside manner, after me asking two questions the response was that they really didn't know what else they can say. I certainly don't feel it was an appropriate response to asking two questions.

The consultant was also patronising and rude to staff in front of us. The atmosphere in the room and shift in attitude of nurses/Dr's after the consultant entered was palpable to me.

I asked the consultant what I should do if after using the cream, it's not better, again I was met by an extremely blunt response that it will be. Then the consultant made me even more embarrassed by saying that I didn't look like I believed a thing they'd said.

Left feeling completely taken aback, embarrassed, uncomfortable and patronised.
