"Staff, Night time & healthy lifestyle"

I feel like staff are missing out on having their breaks. They aren't even getting paid for this. 

Emerald staff are very good at helping us. They try to help us through bad and good. They are always there for us.

Healthy lifestyles: The staff are very good at arranging for us to go to west fields and are very good at their jobs. They always have things for us to do. 

DRC functions: They try their best for functions but they are pulled to the wards to cover. They try to put on as many as possible. 

The night staff are really loud at night, They are telling us to be quiet when we are in our rooms listening to our music but they are loud themselves. 

We are getting our hot drinks late, when i have been asking a staff member if i can have a hot drink or milk they are saying there are no cups, when i feel like there is.

the noise levels are still loud at night and us patients cant sleep.

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your feedback and sharing your concerns.

I am pleased to hear that you find that the Emerald team are supportive and responsive towards your emotional needs. I will ensure that this positive feedback is communicated to the Team.

I acknowledge your disappointment around the lack DRC functions due to staff being deployed to ward areas. I would like to emphasis that the Rampton Leadership Team do not make these decisions likely and that all efforts are made to ensure that patient activity is not lost, unfortunately there have been times when this has been unavoidable.

I would like to apologize for the noise levels that you are experiencing at night, and I have raised this concern, with the Ward Manager, Kayleigh Evans, who in turn will address with night staff.

Kayleigh, has also assured me that there are plenty of cups on the ward to ensure that drinks can be offered. It is noted that at times, the clinical need of the ward has had an impact upon when hot drinks have been facilitated. We apologise for this delay and thank you for your patience during these busy times.

Finally, thank you for raising your concerns about staff wellbeing and breaks being missed. As a hospital we do have a process that supports staff breaks and all staff are aware of this process. Again, I will ask Emerald’s ward manager, Kayleigh Evans, to reiterate this process to staff in her weekly ward update.
