My partner was recently admitted to ward 10.
We were quickly transferred up to ward 10 from casualty.
My partner was extremely unwell and I felt very frustrated that no one had taken the time to explain to us what was going on and why we were placed in the middle of a very tight male room with no privacy.
We were welcomed by nurse Katrina who I expressed my concerns to, Katrina very quickly got hospital cover to come and listen to what we as a family were worried about.
Keri arrived very quickly - it turned out out Keri is ward 10's manager and was the nurse who was on charge on this night.
Keri explained the reasons why my partner had been admitted and what the next steps were, Keri also promised us that as soon as she could she would move my partner in to a more suitable bed space and by the next afternoon she had done this.
I can't imagine how this feels being in the centre of a room with no privacy and totally exposed is just horrendous and my partner felt exposed
The nurses in ward 10 were excellent and work under so much pressure. As a family we didn't realise the strain that the hospital is under and we witnessed this with our own eyes the ward is so understaffed but the nurses still work with smiles on their faces .
"The nurses work under so much pressure"
