"Visiting Claire at the wellbeing hub at RHCYP"

About: Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh) / Play Services

(as a service user),

My children are anxious about hospital visits and I had mentioned this at one of our routine appointments. They referred us to the Hub where we met Claire. She talked them through what the service offered, answered all their questions and brought us back for a session where we met ‘Frank’ the phlebotomy arm where they could practise taking blood and see what was involved. Claire was so good with them and they feel much happier with the process, should they need to get blood samples taken any time in the future. Thank you!

Dear AnnaEZB,

Thank you for taking the time to post your story here. I manage the Play Team, of which Claire is part, and I will make sure she sees these lovely comments.

I am glad that she was able to help your child to understand what was going to happen and allowed them to meet "Frank" and practice some of the things that were going to happen.

I am sure that Claire would have provided you with our contact details so please don't hesitate to contact us for any future appointments that you may require help with.

Kind regards

Margaret McEwan
