"I was referred from CBT after a few major life events"

About: Primary Mental Health Care Services / Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

(as a service user),

The initial assesment was fairly quick after a referral from the GP however the waitlist up to time of recieving treatment was long. In this time my physical and mental symptoms got worse and I had to go to the GP for additional support.

I was initially told I would receive 6 sessions however I needed double.

The therapist was approachable, understanding and had a caring approach during the sessions

We worked through a range of strategies and I was provided with a skill set to help with anxiety, PTSD and CBT. I felt help I received was of a high standard and personalised to my needs.

At the end of my block I was provided with information on next steps or seeking further help if required in the future.

Dear Cloudybadger,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of your input with the CBT service and for sharing details of your personal journey.

We appreciate that there is currently lengthy waiting times for the service and we are working very hard to reduce these, with current processes in place we are seeing steady progress at reducing the longest wait times.

Your review will be so encouraging to others who are waiting on the service and I will share you feedback with the wider team.

I would like to wish you all the best for the future.

Kind Regards

Debbie Proctor

Interim CBT coordinator
