"I felt a lot of support and met a lot of nice people"

About: Addiction services / The Asha Centre

(as a service user),

I started using buds to over come my paranoia and anxiety and started to rely on them badly. I was spending all my money on them, even getting into debt for my habit. I couldn't stop taking them, although I knew what they were doing to me long term. I decided to get help and I've never looked back since.

Coming into ASHA I felt nervous and fear of meeting new people.

Once I got settled I was fine. I found the program very helpful. Talking about the past brought up some feelings but all the staff reassured me. I felt a lot of support and met a lot of nice people. I would recommend anyone who needs help to reach out to ASHA and get the help they need.
