"Medical staff worked brilliantly to see to my wife's needs"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My wife has Louis Body Dementia and resides at Crossgate’s Care Home in Kilmarnock. Last week she somehow broke her right hip joint. My wife was in severe pain. The Care Home responded quickly to arrange transport to get Jane to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.

I spoke to Amy who explained after scans that my wife broke her right hip and got her up to Ward 2A where the medical staff worked brilliantly to see to her needs.

One of the consultants called me at home and explained the operational procedure to repair my wife's hip. I must admit all involved are outstanding. The team work, attention to detail, and exceptional caring is professional and a pleasure to experience. She came in with severe pain and finished up with very little to no discomfort.  I have to complement all for a very quick and complete success to her health. I can’t say enough but thanks for this tremendous staff!

I want to personally thank both consultants Mr Kaliash and Mr.Holt, nurses Stephanie, Karen, Jude, Amy & care assistant Cara, etc.

The cleaners do exceptionally well, everything clean and spotless. Meals and beverages on-time to the patients as well. In my opinion, better than a private hospital! Thanks to all!

Only problem it took the Scottish Ambulance 17.5 hours to respond. The two gentlemen from the Scottish ambulance are very professional, thorough, very kind, very apologetic for the delay.

Dear Devoted901,

Many thanks for taking the time to pass on your thanks and gratitude to the staff who looked after your dear wife following her hip injury. I will ensure that your kind words and appreciation are shared with the teams. I hope your wife remains pain free and continues to make a good recovery.

I regret that there was such a delay with the ambulance being dispatched to bring your wife to Crosshouse Hospital, I know that our colleagues in Scottish Ambulance Areas are working hard to reduce delays and pressures on their service.

Kind regards,

Siobhan Rawdon
