"No communication at all from the hospital"

About: Raigmore Hospital / Ear, Nose & Throat

Following a regular review in November 2023 with Boots Hearing, I was referred to my local GP concerning deep rooted wax in one ear and a recurring infection in the other. Medication failed to solve the problem and I was then referred in December 2023 to ENT at Raigmore. Other than an email in April 2024 asking if I still needed to be seen, no communication at all from the hospital.

Following two phone calls in June & July with no positive news on an appointment, I raised a complaint. This proved fruitless with the usual excuses of being very busy, despite suggesting that surely by this stage I was somewhere in the queue, only to be told I wasn't. In consultation with the person dealing with my complaint, I was told I should hear about an appointment in September as 10 months is the usual wait time.

Guess what - still no communication from Raigmore and we are now halfway through September. Busy they may be, but how are the appointments being allocated and why no communication with patients ?
