"A respectful, person-centred and empathetic approach"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Audiology Royal Alexandra Hospital / Audiology West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital (Yorkhill) / Ear, Nose and Throat (EN)

(as a parent/guardian),

This review is greatly overdue about the audiology department in the children's outpatient hospital, Queen Elizabeth, Yorkhill Hospital prior to that, and the RAH in Paisley.

Our daughter has been supported by excellent staff -  including Pat at the RAH, Nicky, Bibek, Louise and Mr Clement at the Queen Elizabeth.

From the start when we anxiously waited to hear if our baby daughter could hear, to being supported through the years, we have been very impressed by the respectful, person-centred and empathetic approach of the staff.

Our daughter has had a grommet operation, hearing checks, a bone conductor hearing aid, hearing device and recommended bone conductor headphones. These have made our daughter's life easier and helped her hearing in classes in school.

The staff have been very supportive and made such a difference when my daughter was diagnosed with microtia, helping her to adjust to her condition and over the years my daughter feels staff are easy to talk to, fun and listen to her well.

One audiologist, Bibek, gave my daughter a packet of sweets when he heard it was her birthday, the little things are the big things in life and we have been very impressed by the audiology staff.

We would like to thank them for the amazing work that they do, it has been greatly appreciated by myself, my husband and my daughter.

Keep up the good work, you are all such special people.
