"I felt very safe in their hands"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Maternity care

(as a service user),

I went into simpsons for an elective c section as my baby boy was 11 days overdue. I just want to say how grateful I am for the exceptional care I received from start to finish.

I was terrified going in and every single person was kind and put me at ease. I felt very safe in their hands.

The obstetric and anaesthetic consultants spent time talking to me beforehand, everyone in the theatre was so friendly and introduced themselves.

The recovery nurses were so caring and even popped up to the ward to say hi the next day, the midwives on the ward including the students were so attentive and knowledgeable and gave us invaluable support in those early hours, and the CSWs and domestic staff were kind and made sure we had what we needed.

I can’t thank you all enough.

Dear Septemberc18,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us on Care Opinion. Congratulations on the birth of your new baby boy, that’s lovely news!

I am glad that all the staff you met were so kind and took the time to introduce themselves prior to your c-section. This must have helped ease your anxiety. The fact the recovery staff also took the time to visit you the next day was lovely to read.

I have shared this with the clinical management team so that the team can read your feedback.

Again congratulations,

Claire
