"Excellent Care"

I am writing this care opinion on behalf of my brother, who was recently an inpatient in the Neurorehabilitation Unit at the QEUH, and our extended family.

My brother was admitted to the NRU for rehab following a neurosurgical procedure at the INS. We wish to sincerely thank the entire staff and MDT for the care, compassion and expertise provided during his stay. He unfortunately was left with significant motor deficits alongside some cognitive challenges initially following his surgery, however this improved incredibly well under the guidance of the Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Speech and Language therapists, psychologists and the wider MDT. 

As a patient, the support and kindness that was shown to my brother, and our family, made a challenging and turbulent time much more bearable. The genuine caring nature of all staff  and emotional and physical support provided did not go unnoticed by my brother or our family, and he felt very much safe and reassured throughout his stay. He would particularly like to thank Niamh (Physio), Sadie (OT), Kath (SALT), Dr Satu and Maureen (Catering), the unit sister and nursing staff for all their kindness, compassion and support during his stay. 

Each and every member of staff is a credit to NHS GGC and NHS Scotland as a whole, and we wish for them to know that their caring nature, professionalism and support has not gone unnoticed by my brother and our extended family.
