"I woke up with central chest pain"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I felt pain in my upper chest. I thought about this on and off throughout the day. I took my anti-inflammatory medication I take for osteoarthritis. The pain went away. I also took my prescribed pain killers for osteoarthritis.

As my GP surgery has 17 doctors and last week I got triaged via ask my GP service, I was seen by a locum nurse who did not inform me she was a nurse practitioner. I referred to her as "doctor" during my conversation. She did not clarify her status for me, she checked my ears and gave me amoxicillin for my ears.

My experience at Wishaw General had been seamless tonight with great patient care. X ray and consultation was quick. I feel reassured that my heart health is good. I will be able to sleep easier tonight not fretting over this.

Thanks to a great team of doctors, nurses and radiologists. I am just awaiting the results of one blood test and if all is ok I can go home.
