"They kept us updated"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 3 South

(as a carer),

My Dad was recently admitted from ED at CAH onto Ward 3 South. He is in his mid 80's and has dementia and had suffered a head injury.

The care he received on 3 South was second to none. All the staff treated him with great care and attention, and the "Purple Heart" initiative meant he received dementia-specific treatment during his stay. My Dad has not been in hospital for 40+years as an inpatient, so it was a challenge for him, particularly as he was confused and disorientated in time and place, but staff kept him constantly reassured and monitored. All the ward staff were great, I found Edel and Chloe particularly kind and they kept us updated with what was happening with Dad.

Thank you so much for caring for my Dad in such a kind manner. It means a lot.
