"They had me second-guessing conversations"

About: General practices in Ayrshire & Arran

(as a service user),

I was spoken to like I was utter rubbish at the bottom of someone's shoe by my local practice surgery staff.

I phoned the surgery (because they had not phoned me both times they said they would). The person on the phone did not listen to me. Asked for my details 4 times, didn't listen to what I was asking and was giving answers that did not apply to my circumstances (had they listened to me - they would have known that). I was also misled and told that no one was in on certain days (due to public holidays) to call me when, if they'd listened, I'd received a call from the Pain Team on the Friday who are outside of the area. They had me second-guessing conversations I was sure I'd had and it was only when I checked my phone records that I realised I was right.

I got the feeling she would do anything to end the phone call rather than help someone. This is a surgery that has signs everywhere about not being abusive to staff, but it's ok for staff to be abusive (and yes - I count gaslighting as abuse) to the patients?

I suffer from chronic pain and I could have done without the attitude this morning.
