"A huge support to us as a family"

About: Borders Community Services / Occupational Therapy Children and Young People's Services / CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service)

(as a parent/guardian),

I referred my daughter to the OT after her second time falling and hurting herself requiring attendance at A&E.

My daughter’s referral was accepted and she was seen for annual appointment in Hawick. Lisa and Kim were excellent throughout the assessment appointment. They were thorough and gathered insightful information about my daughter.

They put together a plan and supported her in school for some one-to-one sessions with Lesley. Lisa kept in touch regularly with me and arranged a meeting in school to allow us to discuss progress and next steps.

It was agreed for my daughter to be referred to CAMHS and the multi-agency approach allowed the OT service to discuss her referral with CAMHS prior to submission.

Kim, Lesley and in particular Lisa have been utterly fantastic. They are professional, knowledgeable and have been a huge support to us as a family.

Thank you NHS Borders 💙

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of your daughter accessing the Children & Young People's Occupational Therapy Service and staff working not only with her, but with you as a family.

I have shared this with the team members that you have highlighted and it really means a lot to receive such positive feedback.

Can I take this opportunity to wish your daughter all the best on her onward journey.

Kindest regards,

Claire Scott, Children & Young Peoples Occupational Therapy Team Leader
