"Positive experience with a great nurse"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Acute Medical Unit (Ward 2)

(as a relative),

My relative was admitted to AMU from A&E. he has dementia and we’ve had some negative experiences previously so we were anxious about admission.

We met a staff nurse called Louise who was just amazing. She spoke with both our relative and ourselves to gather information. She was kind, compassionate and caring. She spent time with us and we didn’t feel rushed. As relatives we felt involved in our relatives care throughout.

Louise was caring towards our relative but also ourselves too, she encouraged us to go home and rest and reassured us she would phone if anything changed. We honestly couldn’t thank her enough and I hope this gets passed on to her!

This nurse is an asset to the NHS and the ward.
