"Fantastic care of my father"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Medicine for the Older Adult (Wards 9-12)

(as a relative),

My dad was transferred to ward 12 from A&E in Wishaw general following sepsis and other complications. He was  extremely ill at this stage and the staff in the ward could not have been more compassionate and caring.  Given his condition at this stage they allowed us to be with him  which was a great comfort to us all and also to my dad I’m sure.

Every single nurse had an excellent attitude to their work and had a great rapport with the patients also , by understanding their needs and were kind and patient to listen and care for them.  The nurses that I would like to mention in particular are Lynn, Alison, Lisa and Tracey and Lewis were the staff nurses and apologies for not managing to get the csw’s names but every single one of them had such a lovely caring attitude particularly with patients who could be confused with their surroundings they made them feel secure.

All of the staff were very approachable and not once  did we feel an inconvenience at any time when we were asking about my dad’s condition and daily updates .  As just recently retired from the nhs I know the pressures staff are under but not once did this show and they always showed professionalism and kindness throughout.  And thanks to their hard work and  fantastic care, my dad has recovered from sepsis and is being discharged home which we will always be very grateful to them for that ❤️
