I am a paranoid schizophrenic, with other diagnosis on the way. I have been in hospital and now I am looking to get back in to work. My support worker referred me to Tina, she has been helping for 3 months now.
I would like to say that my employment specialist was very aware of the difficulties I experience, I was sat with Tina at Loxley House and someone raised their voice, Tina asked me if I was ok and if this was troubling me. This shows her level of understanding.
Tina has demonstrated her faith and confidence in me, which is important because it is how I feel about myself, sometimes I don’t think I will be able to get a job and when Tina has that confidence, it helps me to rethink my situation. Tina has been able to find some really great opportunities, some that I am qualified for and I am looking for and jobs that I really want which are out there, which I didn’t think would be possible for someone like me.
Tina does not push me, she allows me to work at my own pace, which is really important to me.
Since working with Tina, we have done some interview techniques, and drafted some personal statements which I have sent in applications for jobs. I have still not found a job but feel encouraged and know that if I keep turning up to my appointments, I am sure I will succeed.
"Helps me to rethink my situation"
