I had the best care I could have asked for in Inverurie Maternity Unit. Everyone working at the Maternity Unit are always amazing but they worked so hard this day to make sure I felt comfortable and calm.
I ended up needing to go into Aberdeen, which wasn’t part of our birth plan but everyone made me feel as calm as possible and answered every question I had.
They made what could have been a bit of a scary situation to be in, feel better and didn’t let me panic.
Once we were in Aberdeen, the maternity team there were also very good to me even though I didn’t spend much time with them.
I ended up returning to Inverurie a few hours after giving birth to finish off my checks and I ended up needing to spend the night to monitor my baby's breathing.
As the midwives knew that I had another young child at home, who my partner was going home to care for and this was going to be her first night without me, they offered to let not only my partner spend the night but also my daughter, which I know they 100% didn’t have to do.
I am sad to be finished working with that amazing team of people, but anyone thinking about giving birth in Inverurie definitely should as your care and comfort will be number 1 priority to everyone who is taking part in your care.
