"I was treated with respect, dignity and care"

About: Omagh Primary Care Complex / Urgent Care and Treatment Centre

(as a service user),

I had a fall and cut my nose. I rang the phone first number which gave me the option of going to Urgent Care OHPCC. I had been before with other family members but never for myself.

From reception staff to the nursing staff, I was treated with respect, dignity and care. Conlon assessed my wound. He was very kind and professional. I then went through for treatment and Kea (sp) the nurse practitioner did a further check. Conlon did two sutures and glue. I have never had sutures whilst awake. He was so professional I didn’t feel anything.

As a recently retired nurse you notice the small details. My name is… explanation etc.

The unit was spotlessly clean. I watched as they interacted with other patients in the unit and they were treated with the same professionalism.

When we all moan about the NHS , but when you see it working like this it is worth fighting for. It was a first class service.

Dear Norfolk31,

My name is Ann Marie Conlon and I am the Falls Integrated Pathway Co-ordinator within the Western Health and Social Care Trust.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the service received through Care Opinion. We are always grateful to those who share their experiences of the services they have received.

It was reassuring to learn that all of the staff you met on your journey through Urgent Care in OHPCC were professional and treated you with respect, dignity and care. It was also reassuring to receive feedback on how clean the facility is.

As an organisation we are committed to consistently show kindness, compassion, professionalism and respect to the patients we care for.

I hope that you are making a good recovery at this time.

If you require further information on reducing risk of falls, please contact the Falls Integrated Pathway on 02871610763 alternatively please check information available through the Trust website at https://westerntrust.hscni.net/health-and-wellbeing/later-years-2/
