"Really concerned for my daughter's welfare"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care (Wards 21-24)

(as a service user),

My daughter was admitted by pre-arrangement  for an induced labour. We arrived at 3 pm. However she suffers from severe anxiety and when this was explained to the nurse on duty ( night shift) it basically was ignored.  Quoting- it’s the rules!

Ok so why is the rules different for different people? We heard the girl in next bed being quietly ( whispering almost) offered her own room with TV and phone signal whilst my daughter has no signal, no means of contacting home or watching any TV or iPad  apps,  has to ‘waddle’ out to the main stairs alone to try and phone home. And crying!

What duty of care is this?

Both her partner and mother (both birthing partners) were told to leave during the next hour but new ladies arrived with their partners. Why is this fair and what difference is my daughter to the other ladies in this pre labour ward?

Not good enough and certainly not acceptable in todays society.

I’m very annoyed and upset as I was really concerned of my daughter's welfare.
