Thank you for taking the time to post to provide this feedback. I am sorry to hear that you have had these experiences. I will raise your concerns with the ward team about the portion sizes and that staff were unavailable to check your washing.

Are portion sizes something that you feel you are able to rise within your wards community meeting and also the hospital's food and shop group?

I will personally pass on your thanks to the Emerald ward staff on your behalf.

Hi

Thank you for your post about the DRC functions I will let the team in DRC know you value these. I know sometimes functions do get cancelled at short notice this is often due to to challenges with our vacancies in the Therapies and Education service which we are doing our best to recruit to some more staff at the moment which will help. Sometimes we have to support the wards with safe staffing but when we do that we will always try where possible to support activities on the ward, if we cannot get patients off ward.

We continue to try and minimise this disruption by discussing this in our regular daily demand meetings to look at the best way to support these activities to happen.

Take Care

Kay

Hi,

Thank you for letting me about you how much you enjoy and value the functions we offer in the DRC. My team work extremely hard to make sure the evenings are enjoyable for the patients and give them the best experience of the service they can.

Equally I acknowledge your frustrations with regards to the functions being cancelled. We are still in the process of recruiting to our vacancies which will hopefully minimise staffing shortfalls within our team. There are also occasions when due to shortfalls we find our staff are redeployed to support the wards and ensure safe staffing. I would like to reassure you that we make every effort to ensure that sessions do not get cancelled. We hold communications with the wider hospital management structure via our daily demand meetings each day and any decisions made to cancel sessions so are not taken lightly.

To conclude thank you again for you feedback this invaluable to us. If you feel you need to discuss anything further with me do not hesitate to contact me.
