My sister has been receiving support from ICATT for almost 6 months now.
My sister has autism, a learning disability, and was experiencing a mental health crisis. Penny (ICATT Nurse) was clear that she and her team would do everything they could to avoid my sister being sectioned and admitted to hospital. Penny arranged for my sister to access one of Ruddington View’s unplanned care beds.
The placement at the care bed turned out to be a really positive experience. My sister was in a less stimulating environment, had 1-1 care, and during her time there she was started on new medication and was reviewed on a regular basis. We seen gradual improvements week by week, before returning home after a 10-week stay.
A special thank you to Penny from ICATT for all of your support, not only for my sister, but for me. I appreciate you keeping me informed every step of the way and for giving me reassurance.
It’s such a relief that my sister is feeling well again and is now back at home, feeling happier than I’ve ever known her. She has enjoyed the time spent with both Penny and Becki, she looks forward to their visits. She wouldn’t be where she is now without the support from ICATT. They have made a huge difference to my sister's life.
