"Finally got the help I needed"

About: Community Mental Health Services / North East Hub

(as a service user),

I kept going to the doctors over the space of a few months to try get help and was getting absolutely nowhere. It was useless, all the doctor ever did was try and stick me on sleeping tablets. Then finally I went to see a different doctor and told them the story of what’s been going on, then finally got the help I needed.

The worker I got was really nice and I feel better than I did before I started going for help.

Hello,

My name is Ally McGurty and I am the Team Manager for the North Angus Community Mental Health Team. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us and I am so pleased that you are now feeling better. Taking the first step in asking for help can feel daunting and I am so glad you went back to see another Doctor who pointed you in the right direction.

You should be very proud of the steps you have taken for yourself and thank you for your very kind words which I will share with the team.

I wish you all the very best as you build upon your mental health recovery and it is such a privilege for us working in mental health to hear back from those who use our service.

Best Wishes

Ally McGurty

Clinical Team Manager
