"My new hip"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Endoscopy Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Orthopaedics (Wards 10a, 10b, 10c &10d)

(as a service user),

I recently got my new hip at the Queen Elizabeth university hospital Glasgow. Mr Marsh carried out the operation and also checked in with me regularly in ward 10 afterwards, which fed my confidence, relaxed me a little more and was greatly appreciated.

Other staff that attended to me regularly were Amy and Jessica. Both these nurses were very professional as well as going beyond what was asked of them to help in many ways, even just popping in to make sure I was okay if I hadn’t used my buzzer in a while. A valuable asset to our NHS indeed.

All the staff were really good. Even the physiotherapists were gently encouraging, I appreciated that. I also think the Mary (pre-op nurse) giving me exercises to do before the operation has stood me in good stead to heal quicker.

Thank you each and every one of you.  You are wonderful people who are all very much appreciated.  I also needed an endoscope and the sedation made me ask the doctor to come to my silent disco (sorry about that). And lastly I needed blood too so thank you to the blood donors too.
