"Late appointment"

About: Mater Hospital / Macular Unit

(as a service user),

My appointments for the macular clinic are often late and when this happens my vision seems to deteriorate and my vision is worse for this happening.

I recently phoned the macular clinic and was dealt with an unhelpful and somewhat obstructive individual on the other end of the phone, it would seem that he didn't what to help with my request for information.

Dear Belfast eye

I am sorry to learn of delays to your Macular appointments.

The Service remains under great pressure due to lack of physical capacity and sickness absence from all staff groups, which unfortunately has contributed to waiting times.

I would like to apologise that you felt any staff were less than professional following your recent phone call to the Clinic. This is disappointing to hear and will be addressed with the managers of the different staff groups working there, to speak with their teams.
