"Breast clinic consultation"

About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Breast Clinic

(as a service user),

It was a horrible experience, the person who examined me was rude, not considerate or compassionate.

I had already had breast cancer and was having my follow up examination after my mammogram. I have been left with chronic tenderness after my radiotherapy to the point I am unable to hug anyone tightly or have any touch or pressure on my skin, I had already been to the pain clinic about this.

I explained this to the staff in attendance. They were totally unsympathetic to my concerns and although they asked for a nurse to come in, they also said that just to get off the table as there was no point in examining me. The examination had already started, it was rough and it was so painful, but this was just brushed off and they seemed annoyed with me.

I will never go back and even if I have any concerns I will ask to go to a different hospital.
