"So grateful for their care and compassion"

About: The Princess Royal Maternity Unit / Maternity care (wards 68, 72 &73)

(as a service user),

I had a long and traumatic 2 day labour in hospital prior to being transferred to the Labour ward as my son was back to back and my labour was progressing very slowly.

As soon as I got to the Labour ward I felt so well cared for. The staff were so efficient and got me to theatre quickly for an emergency c section having identified my baby was in distress.

My son was born in September 2023 and I am writing this late but couldn’t talk about my birth for a long time. I would like to thank every staff member in the Labour ward and theatre for the amazing care we received and for getting my baby boy here safely.

I also work for the NHS and if these were my staff I would want them to know what an amazing job they all do!

Myself and my husband were so grateful for their care and compassion. I felt at total ease whilst in theatre despite this being the scariest experience of my life. Thank you a million times over!

Dear Jhu241,

I am sorry to hear that you had a difficult labour and birth with your son. Hopefully you are doing well now. It is really kind of you to give us your feedback. It is fantastic to hear that the labour ward and theatre team did such a great job of caring for you even though it was such a terrifying time for you. I will share your feedback with them.

Best Wishes,

Tracy Orr
